|
Fāilte!
Welcome to Silicon Glen
"Scotland's Internet Name"
Silicon Glen, Scotland. Where more computers are made per head
of population than any other country in the world. Silicon Glen is the
name given to the region of Central Scotland broadly encompassing Glasgow,
Edinburgh, Stirling, Livingston, Linlithgow, Glenrothes, East Kilbride,
Dundee and areas between. However, it is also used in a broad sense to
mean the Scottish computing, Internet and high technology sector as a
whole. We hope you enjoy the Silicon Glen site!
Silicon Glen in Scotland hosts a large number of Scottish companies ranging
from start-ups to established mature companies. In addition, it is also
host to a large number of international companies which have chosen to
invest in Silicon Glen. These include Sun, Motorola, Agilent (formerly
HP), IBM, Microsoft, Oracle, Cap Gemini, Wind River, Compaq, Cadence,
3Com and Adobe. There are also a large number of major universities in
the area, including the universities of Glasgow, Edinburgh, Stirling and
Dundee which produce a constant supply of world class graduates for Silicon
Glen's companies. Awarded Cool Site of the Day by Netscape. [Click
